Encaustic Play-Date

Explore encaustic – the ancient art form of painting with molten beeswax in this full day workshop. Work at your level- learn the basics with Christina Lovisa’s instruction – or do what you do best in the company of other artists.
Includes all wax and supplies and one 16” X 20” wooden panel (you can bring more if you like).

“The House that Mixed Media Built”

I don’t know who first made these houses but they seem to be popping up in many artists’ photos. These lovelies are made by Lisa Kaus. We tried them in one of my mixed media classes and they were a hit!

Come for a plein-air day (outside) at my home studio in Nepean. I’ll make a nice lunch for you (please advise of any nutritional restrictions) and together we will each make a set of three art houses. The three houses will be approx 12”, 16” and 20” tall by 6” wide. I will have a plaster base already applied and dried ready for painting. Your job is to bring your paints, brushes, stamps stencils etc as well as “hardware” type embellishments for decorating your houses. Have fun hunting!

*If you dont have your own paints etc, we can lend you student grade acrylics and brushes with advance notice.

2 Day Art-Escape in the Garden

July 11th + 12th,

10-5 each day

What better way to celebrate your creativity than to take two very special days just for yourself to create art outdoors at the beautiful river-garden setting at my home in Ottawa. I don’t often share the magical experience of my creativity-inspiring backyard, but on this occasion, for these two special days, I invite you to come and paint, draw, or sculpt the days away in this art-escape called TAKE IT OUTSIDE. The energy from the river, the trees, the animals and of course your fellow participating artists will heighten your creativity as you watch the hours fly by! Lunches and snacks will be provided (you can bring your own if you have strict dietary concerns) or let me know how I can try to accommodate your individual needs.

This escape is non-instructional – you supply yourself with what you need to create your masterpiece. I will be there to provide encouragement, assistance if needed, guidance and refreshments!
